Christopher C. Rowe MD is Director of Nuclear Medicine and PET, Austin Health, Melbourne, a Professor of the University of Melbourne and a neurologist. He is a past President of the SNM Brain Imaging Council and received the 2011 SNM Kuhl-Lassen Award for Outstanding Contribution to Brain Imaging. He is the neuroimaging leader of several large studies of aging and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) including AIBL and the Co-operative Research Centre for Mental Health and is the current Chair of the Neuroimaging Professional Interest Area for the US Alzheimer’s Association (AA). He was a member of the joint SNM/AA amyloid imaging taskforce to define appropriate use criteria, the Centiloid workgroup for standardization of amyloid measurement with imaging and was on the NIH/AA workgroup to define criteria for Preclinical AD. His research focus is imaging of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly AD, for better understanding, earlier more accurate detection, and to facilitate development of early therapeutic interventions. His publications had over 1000 citations in 2012.
